The Nation Forum of Women with Disabilities (NFWD) Sri Lanka proudly nominated two women with disabilities, Sathya Nirmani and Gayani Madushika, to participate in the Training of Trainers (😭) programme on Awareness-Raising and Knowledge Sharing on Women’s Rights.

The training was held on 2nd and 3rd February 2026 at Mandarina Colombo under the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership – Sri Lanka project, organized by The Asia Foundation with the support of Global Affairs Canada.

This enriching and engaging programme strengthened their understanding of women’s rights, session planning, and effective community outreach. The participants learned how to plan and deliver awareness sessions, explored intersectionality through discussions and creative drama activities, and actively engaged in live quizzes.

Group activities provided space to share personal perspectives and ideas on women’s empowerment, making the learning process interactive, reflective, and meaningful.

Overall, the training enhanced their facilitation, communication, and advocacy skills. We are confident that Sathya and Gayani will take forward these important messages and contribute to positive change within their communities, especially advancing the rights of women with disabilities.

👏 Congratulations to both participants for representing NFWD with dedication and commitment!
