NFWD’s Founder, President & CEO participated as a panelist at this important national dialogue. The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, brought together the Land Degradation Focal Point, Technical Working Group members, and GESI practitioners to strengthen the integration of gender equality and social inclusion into Sri Lanka’s LDN target implementation and the development of the Gender Action Plan.

During the panel discussion, she emphasized the importance of meaningful participation of women with disabilities and other marginalized communities in sustainable land management and environmental decision-making. She highlighted that inclusion is fundamental to achieving equitable, effective, and sustainable environmental outcomes.
